2 min read

When you connect your Google/Gmail account to Nance, Nance accesses Google user data through the Gmail API to provide the email-based financial tracking functionality of the Nance application.

Data we access

Nance requests the gmail.readonly permission. This allows Nance to access email messages and related Gmail information. Depending on the contents of your emails, this may include:

  • Email message content and body text
  • Sender and recipient information
  • Email subject lines
  • Email timestamps
  • Credit card transaction information
  • Payment confirmations
  • Statement information
  • Billing and due-date information
  • Other financial information contained in relevant emails

How we use Google user data

Nance uses Google user data to identify relevant financial information from emails and provide user-facing financial features, including credit card transaction tracking, transaction history, financial summaries, reminders, and related financial insights within Nance.

Nance does not use Google user data for advertising, targeted advertising, personalized advertising, retargeting, data brokerage, information resale, creditworthiness determination, lending purposes, or any other unrelated purpose.

Google API Limited Use

Nance’s use of information received from Google APIs, including raw data and information derived from that data, adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements.

Third-party processing

Google user data may be processed by Nance’s infrastructure and third-party service providers where necessary to provide the user-facing financial functionality described in this Privacy Policy. Such processing is limited to the purpose for which the data was accessed and is subject to applicable privacy, security, and confidentiality requirements.

AI and machine learning

Google user data obtained through Google APIs is not used to train, develop, or improve generalized, foundational, or non-personalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Google user data, including raw email content and information derived from that content, is not used to create a general-purpose training dataset or to improve AI models for other users.
