Summary
You can create a budget in Nance by selecting a category, setting an amount, and choosing whether it is recurring or non-recurring.
How This Works in Nance
Nance allows you to create category-based budgets with flexibility on how they behave over time.
Steps to Create a Budget
- Go to the Budgets section
- Tap “Create Budget”
- Select a category (e.g., Food, Travel, Shopping)
- Choose a time period (weekly or monthly)
- Set your budget amount
- Choose:
- Recurring budget or
- Non-recurring budget
- Save the budget
Recurring vs Non-Recurring Budgets
Recurring Budget
- Automatically resets at the end of each cycle
- Weekly → resets every week
- Monthly → resets every month
- Ideal for:
- Regular spending (food, transport, etc.)
Non-Recurring Budget
- Does not reset automatically
- Continues until you manually change or remove it
- Useful for:
- One-time goals or controlled spending periods
What Happens After Creating
- Nance tracks all transactions under that category
- You’ll see:
- Spent vs budget
- Remaining amount
- Usage progress
Important to Know
- Budgets are tied to categories, not accounts
- Accurate categorization directly affects budget tracking
- Cash transactions are included if manually added
Set the rule once.
Recurring or not—Nance keeps the score.
